About the Golden Daisy Mandala
The Golden Daisy Mandala is a 8-fold daisy mandala: every motif repeats 8 times around the center. It is built from 4 rings of layered petals, scallops and dots, from a small flower in the middle to the wide outer border.
This is an easy mandala with fairly large spaces – a good start for kids, beginners and anyone who wants a quick, calm page. Most people finish it in 20 to 40 minutes with crayons, markers or colored pencils.
How to Color This Mandala
Start in the center and work outwards ring by ring, so your hand doesn't smudge finished parts. Choose 3 to 5 colors and repeat them, so the mandala looks balanced.
- Layered petals: color the back layer a shade darker than the front layer so they look stacked.
- Scallops: scalloped edges look pretty in a lighter shade of the ring next to them.
- Dots: dots are perfect for a pop of accent color, like gold or a bright contrast.
Color Ideas
- Keep it fresh like a daisy: white or pale yellow petals around a golden center, with leafy greens outside.
- Sunset: coral, peach, magenta and gold.
- Jewel tones: emerald, sapphire, amethyst and ruby.
Did You Know?
Eight-fold symmetry is common in traditional mandalas and rose windows – the design can be split into eight equal slices.
