About the Blooming Flower Mandala
The Blooming Flower Mandala is a 12-fold flower mandala: every motif repeats 12 times around the center. It is built from 4 rings of arches, dots, spikes and scallops, from a small flower in the middle to the wide outer border.
This is an easy mandala with fairly large spaces – a good start for kids, beginners and anyone who wants a quick, calm page. Most people finish it in 20 to 40 minutes with crayons, markers or colored pencils.
How to Color This Mandala
Start in the center and work outwards ring by ring, so your hand doesn't smudge finished parts. Choose 3 to 5 colors and repeat them, so the mandala looks balanced.
- Arches: color every second arch the same to create a rhythm around the ring.
- Dots: dots are perfect for a pop of accent color, like gold or a bright contrast.
- Spikes: pointed shapes look great with a gradient – dark at the base, light at the point.
- Scallops: scalloped edges look pretty in a lighter shade of the ring next to them.
Color Ideas
- Treat each ring like a layer of petals: pinks and corals in the middle, greens on the outside like leaves.
- Monochrome: five shades of one color, from very light to very dark.
- Sunset: coral, peach, magenta and gold.
