About the Golden Flower Mandala
The Golden Flower Mandala is a 6-fold flower mandala: every motif repeats 6 times around the center. It is built from 4 rings of dots, teardrops, layered petals and spikes, from a small flower in the middle to the wide outer border.
This is an easy mandala with fairly large spaces – a good start for kids, beginners and anyone who wants a quick, calm page. Most people finish it in 20 to 40 minutes with crayons, markers or colored pencils.
How to Color This Mandala
Start in the center and work outwards ring by ring, so your hand doesn't smudge finished parts. Choose 3 to 5 colors and repeat them, so the mandala looks balanced.
- Dots: dots are perfect for a pop of accent color, like gold or a bright contrast.
- Teardrops: a tiny white spot left uncolored makes them look like shiny drops.
- Layered petals: color the back layer a shade darker than the front layer so they look stacked.
- Spikes: pointed shapes look great with a gradient – dark at the base, light at the point.
Color Ideas
- Treat each ring like a layer of petals: pinks and corals in the middle, greens on the outside like leaves.
- Autumn: rust, mustard, burgundy and copper.
- Ocean: teal, turquoise, navy and sandy beige.
