About the Sweet Sun Mandala
The Sweet Sun Mandala is a 6-fold sun mandala: every motif repeats 6 times around the center. It is built from 4 rings of layered petals, petals and arches, from a small flower in the middle to the wide outer border.
This is an easy mandala with fairly large spaces – a good start for kids, beginners and anyone who wants a quick, calm page. Most people finish it in 20 to 40 minutes with crayons, markers or colored pencils.
How to Color This Mandala
Start in the center and work outwards ring by ring, so your hand doesn't smudge finished parts. Choose 3 to 5 colors and repeat them, so the mandala looks balanced.
- Layered petals: color the back layer a shade darker than the front layer so they look stacked.
- Petals: shade each petal darker at the base and lighter at the tip for a soft 3D look.
- Arches: color every second arch the same to create a rhythm around the ring.
Color Ideas
- Warm sunny colors bring out the rays: yellow, gold and orange from the center out, with a touch of red on the tips.
- Sunset: coral, peach, magenta and gold.
- Jewel tones: emerald, sapphire, amethyst and ruby.
