About the Starry Flower Mandala
The Starry Flower Mandala is a 10-fold flower mandala: every motif repeats 10 times around the center. It is built from 4 rings of teardrops, petals and layered petals, from a small flower in the middle to the wide outer border.
This is an easy mandala with fairly large spaces – a good start for kids, beginners and anyone who wants a quick, calm page. Most people finish it in 20 to 40 minutes with crayons, markers or colored pencils.
How to Color This Mandala
Start in the center and work outwards ring by ring, so your hand doesn't smudge finished parts. Choose 3 to 5 colors and repeat them, so the mandala looks balanced.
- Teardrops: a tiny white spot left uncolored makes them look like shiny drops.
- Petals: shade each petal darker at the base and lighter at the tip for a soft 3D look.
- Layered petals: color the back layer a shade darker than the front layer so they look stacked.
Color Ideas
- Treat each ring like a layer of petals: pinks and corals in the middle, greens on the outside like leaves.
- Monochrome: five shades of one color, from very light to very dark.
- Sunset: coral, peach, magenta and gold.
Did You Know?
Ten-fold symmetry is less common, which gives this mandala a slightly unusual, star-like rhythm.
