About the Cosmic Star Mandala

The Cosmic Star Mandala is a 6-fold star mandala: every motif repeats 6 times around the center. It is built from 4 rings of teardrops, arches, dots and petals, from a small flower in the middle to the wide outer border.

This is an easy mandala with fairly large spaces – a good start for kids, beginners and anyone who wants a quick, calm page. Most people finish it in 20 to 40 minutes with crayons, markers or colored pencils.

How to Color This Mandala

Start in the center and work outwards ring by ring, so your hand doesn't smudge finished parts. Choose 3 to 5 colors and repeat them, so the mandala looks balanced.

  • Teardrops: a tiny white spot left uncolored makes them look like shiny drops.
  • Arches: color every second arch the same to create a rhythm around the ring.
  • Dots: dots are perfect for a pop of accent color, like gold or a bright contrast.
  • Petals: shade each petal darker at the base and lighter at the tip for a soft 3D look.

Color Ideas

  • Try a night sky: navy and purple in the background shapes, gold and silver on the points.
  • Rainbow: one color per ring, in rainbow order from the center.
  • Forest: moss, olive, pine and warm brown.

Did You Know?
