About This Cornucopia Coloring Page
A woven cornucopia – the "horn of plenty" – lies on its side with a curly tip. Out of its open end spill an apple, a pear, an orange and a bunch of grapes. Falling leaves float around it.
The woven bands on the horn and the many fruits give kids plenty of shapes to color, which makes this a good medium page for kids from about 5 years.
Coloring Ideas
- Light brown or golden horn with darker brown lines.
- Red apple, green pear, orange orange and purple grapes.
- Color the inside of the horn dark brown so the fruit pops out.
Did You Know?
The cornucopia comes from ancient Greek stories. It stands for plenty and a good harvest, which is why it is a symbol of Thanksgiving.
Activity
Ask your child which foods they would put in their own horn of plenty, and draw them around the cornucopia. For more harvest fun, color the basket of apples and the ear of corn.
