A happy striped fish swims under the sea. It has a big eye, a smile, a fin on its back and a fan-shaped tail. Bubbles float up to the surface, and two strands of seaweed grow from the sandy bottom.

Coloring Ideas

• Clownfish: orange stripes with white in between.
• Tropical fish: alternate yellow, blue and pink stripes.
• Color the water light blue, the sand yellow and the seaweed green.

Fish breathe with gills. They take oxygen from the water as it flows over the gills.

Activity

Count the stripes on the fish and the bubbles in the water. Then draw more sea friends – a starfish, a crab or a shell – on the sand. Pair it with the little turtle for an ocean-and-beach set.
